SA Moldovagaz requested the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) to increase the average gas tariff for end-users by 28.76% from October 1, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the ANRE. Moldovagaz argued that the purchase price of gas for the third quarter was US$367.9 per 1 000m3, while for the fourth quarter is expected to be US$400.47 per 1 000m3. Thus, it asked setting an average tariff of 5 922 lei per 1 000m3 of gas, as against the current tariff of 4 599 lei. Public hearings will be held on September 19 to discuss the given issue. The gas supplier will present the calculations justifying the rise in tariffs to the ANRE. The meeting will be attended by representatives of state institutions, employers, trade unions, consumer protection associations and other nongovernmental organizations.
