Moldovagaz demands increasing heating charge for end-users by 13.1%

The public gas utility Moldovagaz requested the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) to adjust the tariff on the transportation, distribution and supply of natural gas and the average heating charge for end-users. Moldovagaz demands that the heating charge for end-users be 4,636 lei/1000 m3, by 13.1% higher than the current charge of 4,098 de lei/1000 m3 set by the ANRE on May 18, 2010, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Agency’s press service. The public gas utility also demands increasing the tariff on the distribution and supply of natural gas by 44.3 lei/1000 m3 – from 583.73 lei/1000 m3 to 628.03 lei/1000 m3, and the tariff on the transportation of gas by 3.5 lei/1000 m3 – from 23.62 lei/1000 m3 to 27.13 lei/1000 m3. SA Moldovagaz argues that the average purchase price of the natural gas on January 1, 2011 rose from US$262.95 per 1000 m3 in 2010 to US$293.8 per 1000 m3. It says that the new purchase price was set in accordance with the additional agreement to the contract signed by Moldovagaz and Russia’s gas giant Gazprom. Currently, the ANRE is verifying and analyzing the materials and calculations presented by SA Moldovagaz.
