The right bank of the Dniester is assured with gas for the whole winter and until the first month of spring. The purchase of the necessary volume of gas for this period was repeatedly confirmed by the head of Moldovagaz, Vadim Ceban, on his Telegram channel, IPN reports.
The acting chairman of the Moldovagaz Board of Directors assures that the right bank of the Dniester has sufficient gas reserves. Moldovagaz has purchased a volume of gas that covers the needs of all consumers on the right bank of the Dniester until the end of March 2025, Vadim Ceban said.
On the other hand, the left bank of the Dniester will no longer receive Russian gas after January 1, 2025. The announcement was made two days ago by Russian supplier Gazprom. The Concern explained that due to unpaid debts it will reduce the amount of gas to zero from January 1, 2025. In its notification, Gazprom claims "systematic non-payment of debts" and "essential deviations from contractual provisions". In response, Prime Minister Dorin Recean described the action as a "political weapon".
