Moldovagaz requested the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NAER) to increase the average natural gas rate for end users from 9.227 lei to 13.418 lei per cubic meter of gas, IPN reports.
According to a press release, the rate for the natural gas at points leaving low pressure distribution networks should be raised from 10.196 lei la to 14.437 lei per cubic meter (without VAT), medium pressure distribution networks – from 8.586 lei to 12.827 lei per cubic meter, and high pressure distribution networks – from 8.268 lei to 12.509 lei per cubic meter.
In the case of gas transportation networks, the rate will be increased from 7.771 lei to 11.987 lei per cubic meter of gas at entrance points and from 8.059 lei to 12.296 lei at exit points.
“The significant rise in purchase prices is the main factor that led to the necessary of reviewing the rate. This decision is in strict compliance with the legislation and will enable to fully cover the purchase price so as to ensure the fulfillment of the contract conditions concerning payments to the natural gas supplier,” said the quoted source.
Moldovagaz suggests that the new natural gas rates should take effect as form January 1, 2022. The rates are to be approved by NAER in an open meeting.
Currently, domestic consumers pay 10.2 lei per cubic meter of gas without VAT.
