Moldova youth football team beaten by Poland

The national youth football team of Moldova lost to Poland’s squad 2-4 in a match of the 2013 European Championship qualifiers in Tiraspol on June 1, Info-Prim Neo reports. The guests have dominated the game since the very beginning. They scored three goals in the first half, two of which by captain Grzegorz Krychowiak. The Moldovan footballers became more active in the second half. In only 6 minutes, Radu Gansari and Artiom Hachaturov reduced the difference to one goal. But the Moldovan defense made a mistake allowing the opponents to score another goal, through Mateusz Klich. “I can reproach my pupils for nothing. They played a good game, but did not have enough strength in the end,” said Moldova manager Alexandru Kurteyan. “We got three points and this is important. I admit that I had jitters, especially at the start of the second half of the match, when Moldova scored two goals,” Poland coach Stefan Majewski said after the game. This is Moldova’s fifth defeat in six matches in the current qualifying round. In another match of group 6, Portugal beat Russia 1-0. The rankings are topped by Russia with 12 points. It is followed by Portugal with 11 points, Pound with 10 points, Albania with four points, and Moldova with three points. On September 6, Moldova will play the next game against Albania at home.
