Cornel Andries and Victor Sterpu won by a bronze medal at the Junior European Judo Cup held in Hungary, IPN reports.

They both competed in the 73 kg weight class and dueled in the third round where Cornel Andries emerged victorious. In the semifinals, Andries was beaten by the future champion Endre Gunics of Hungary, but in the match for the bronze medal he defeated Italy’s Mattia Prosdocimo.

For his part, Victor Sterpu needed two victories in the runoffs to qualify further. In the last match, he won against Romania’s Razvan Bodea.
