Moldova’s Ilia Sprancean and Oleg Nuta ranked second in the 500 m doubles at the 2017 Canoe Sprint World Cup, IPN reports.
The two covered the distance in 1 minute and 47.796 seconds, being outstripped only by Poland’s Tomas Barneak and Viktor Glazunov (1 minute and 47.224 seconds). Timofei and Sergey Emelianov of Kazakhstan ranked third. The Olympic champions of Germany and the world champions of Russia failed to medal.
The third round of the 2017 Canoe Sprint World Cup was held in Belgrade. The competition involved athletes from 58 countries.
