Moldova wins silver and bronze at European Youth Olympic Festival

Moldova has won the first medals at the European Youth Olympic Festival that is taking place in Utrecht, the Netherlands, IPN reports.

On July 19, Anastasia Detiuc won bronze in the tennis competition after beating Tereza Mihalikova of Slovakia in the small final, 6-1, 6-2.

Athlete Anastasia Calinina won silver in the triple jump with the result of 12.80 meters. Anastasia was close to winning a gold medal, but was outstripped by Yanis Esmeralda David of France in the last attempt with 12.92 meters.

At the 2013 European Youth Olympic Festival, Moldova is represented by 14 athletes who are competing in five events: lawn tennis, judo, swimming, athletics, and cycling.
