Moldova wins bronze at World Universiade
Moldova has won one more medal at the World Universiade in Shenzhen, China. Andrei Rotaru won bronze in taekwondo, 58kg class.
In the qualifiers, the Moldovan athlete defeated Congo’s Bazebizonza Floris Olivier, Alkalbani Hazaa from the United Arab Emirates, and Malaysia’s Lunn Ryan Chong Wy. In the semifinals, Andrei lost to Mostean Loron Hadi from Iran 7-10. Thus, he obtained the third prize of the competition
Moldova’s last representative at the University Games is also a taekwondo athlete. On August 23, Vladislav Arventii will compete in the 63kg class. The official competition closing ceremony will take place the same day.
On August 19, Moldova’s Zalina Marghiev won gold in hammer throw.
