The national karate team finished third at the Traditional Karate World Championship, in the team Kumite. Moldova thus won a medal in this event after a two-year pause.

“It is an impetus to achieve greater results in the future. We want to take the second or even the first position. We want to develop this type of sport so that we have more athletes participating in the next world championship,” athlete Ianus Turcan has told the reporters.

The Traditional Karate World Championship of Switzerland involved competitors from 30 countries. Moldova was represented by 13 sportsmen.
