Moldova will not have deportation camps. Authorities refute fake reports

The European Union will set up deportation camps in neighboring countries that want to join the bloc, such a Serbia, Albania and Moldova, under plans to be discussed by European leaders, says an article written by “The Times” with reference to a source whose name is not specified, IPN reports. The Moldovan authorities deny these rumors.

According to Daniel Vodă, spokesman for the Government of the Republic of Moldova, this information is false. “Let me be clear: the Government is not discussing such a proposal and will not accept such ideas,” Vodă said in a message published on Telegram.

For information on Government decisions, citizens are urged to use reliable official sources, such as the First Source, which is an official channel for verifying information created by the authorities, the Government’s spokesman stressed.

“This is not the first time that such fake news appears in the public space. On exactly the same subject, false information appeared in 2020, also before the presidential election. It is to the advantage of media outlets affiliated with opposition political leaders to distribute this information in order to misinform the public,” Valeriu Pasha, president of WatchDog community of Moldova, told IPN.
