Moldova will have to negotiate another loan with Russia
The Russian Federation is still willing to offer Moldova a loan, yet the Moldovan authorities will have to initiate a new round of negotiations for it, said Prime Minister Vlad Filat, when asked whether or not Russia was going to deliver on its promise to lend Moldova $150 million, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The time limit for the offering of that $150m loan, according to the decision of the Russian Duma, was 2009. Given that it wasn't managed to sign a loan agreement during last year, we are to renew negotiations with the Russian Federation for that credit”, said Filat.
Speaking about the $1 billion loan reportedly promised by a Chinese state-run company, Filat said the negotiations on the loan, its terms and the infrastructure projects it is supposed to provide the financing for, were still going on.
