Moldova will have National Cancer Survivors Day

A National Cancer Survivors Day will be instituted in the Republic of Moldova. A draft law to supplement the decision on commemorative days, bank holidays and nonworking days was adopted by Parliament on Thursday, IPN reports.

The legislative proposal was put forward by MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity Gheorghe Ichim, Oleg Canațui and Iurie Păsat. It is proposed that the National Cancer Survivors Day should be annually celebrated in the first Sunday in June.

According to the sponsors of the bill, the legislative initiative is aimed at raising awareness of the challenges faced by the persons who suffered from cancer.

The proposal to institute the National Cancer Survivors Day was adopted by the votes of 72 MPs.
