The Cabinet approved the automated information system “State Register of Guns” that implies the centralized control of civil guns, private individuals and legal entities that hold guns, operations with arms and munitions, stolen or lost arms. There were agreed the methods of recording information about the technical state of arms, gun ownership, carrying and use rights and lawful owners, IPN reports.
According to the authorities, preconditions are thus created for swiftly identifying arms in circulation on Moldova’s territory by ensuring access to the integrated database. The “State Register of Guns” offers information interaction possibilities at international level as well.
There will be optimized and facilitated the registrars’ access to information concerning surveillance of gun owners by creating an application for storing, structuring and keeping the information from the scanned documents.
The automated information system “State Register of Guns” will be kept and managed by the Ministry of the Interior.
