Moldova will have ambassador in Qatar

Prime Minister Vlad Filat and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani agreed to open a permanent diplomatic representative office in Qatar, which will be Moldova’s first embassy in the Persian Gulf, based in Doha, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government. The Premier thanked the Qatari authorities for hosting the Moldovan delegation, saying the visit to Qatar is very important for the bilateral relations as it will lay the basis for a sustainable and mutually advantageous relation. He also thanked the State of Qatar for the US$98,000 provided to the victims of the 2010 floods in assistance. Vlad Filat said there are many preconditions that favor the development of the bilateral cooperation relations. He also said that the potential of the trade between Moldova and Qatar deserves being realized, expressing his readiness to discuss projects that would be in the interest of both of the states. The Emir welcomed the signing of a series of bilateral agreements that would give a new impetus to the development of economic cooperation, promotion of investments, elimination of the visa regime for holders of diplomatic band special passports, promotion of tourism and in the field of sports. Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani accepted Vlad Filat‘s invitation to pay a visit to Moldova.
