Moldova will be represented by officials and civil society delegates at Donors' Consultative Group Meeting in Brussels

Premier Vlad Filat will fly to Brussels this evening to take part in the Donors' Consultative Group Meeting that will be held there on March 24. The official Moldovan delegation will follow him tomorrow, March 23, Info-Prim Neo reports. The delegation consists of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, Minister of State Victor Bodiu, a large part of the ministers, the central bank's governor Dorin Dragutan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Natalia Gherman, who is Moldova's main negotiator at the talks on the Association Agreement with the EU, the advisers to the Prime Minister and Minister of State. For the first time, the delegation includes a group of experts working as part of different projects managed by the Government, independent experts and representatives of the civil society. Among these are Igor Munteanu, executive director of the Institute for Development and Social Initiative “Viitorul", Valeriu Prohnitski, executive director the Independent Analytical Center "Expert-Grup", Valentina Bodrug-Lungu, head of the NGO "Gender-Centru". In an interview, Minister of State Victor Bodiu said the meeting will be held under the aegis of the World Bank and the European Commission and they hope there will be a sincere discussion. “The Government has formulated a strategic paper – Rethink Moldova – which outlines reform priorities and investment needs over a four-year period. The road to Rethink Moldova was paved in partnership with the development community, business circles and the civil society,” he said. On March 18, the Government and the development partners signed a document titled “Principles of Partnership for Development”, whereby the Moldovan authorities pledge to direct the foreign assistance exclusively towards improving the quality of life. The document was signed by 18 representatives of international organizations such as the IMF, the WB, the UNDP, the DFID, the SIDA and the ambassadors working in Chisinau.
