Moldova will ask Moscow to cancel taxes on Moldovan alcohol exports

Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vasile Bumacov will travel to Moscow to meet Gennady Onishenko, the head of the Russian Sanitary Service, in a bid to ask the Russian authorities to cancel taxes on Moldovan alcoholic production and open an additional customs facility in Breansk for such production, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the Ministry of Agriculture, Vasile Bumacov leaves for Moscow on Saturday, April 28. During the meeting with Gennady Onishenko, they will discuss the current situation of Moldovan alcohol exports to Russia and the actions that have to be taken to eliminate problems in the process of delivery and trade of wines and brandy in Russia. The two ofgficials will also talk about additional measures to ensure compliance with the Russian sanitary and consumers’ rights rules. Other subjects will be the finalization of the process of accreditation of the Center for Establishing the Quality of Alcoholic Production’s laboratory in the Rospotrebnadzor system, accepting the mutual recognition of production certificates and the annulling of additional certification in order to reduce costs. Minister Bumacov will also speak with Onishenko about the current requirements applied by Russian specialized institutions in the process of evaluating quality and the list of normative indicators on production security, methods of establishing them, setting the limit of allowed concentration and normative acts in this regard.
