Moldova will appeal ECHR decision on Oferta Plus to Grand Chamber
The Prosecutor General’s Office in concert with the governmental agent are gathering evidence to challenge the decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) in the case of Oferta Plus v. Moldova in the ECHR Grand Chamber, first deputy prosecutor Vasile Pascari informed at the Parliament’s sitting of March 6, Info-Prim Neo reports.
He said that Oferta Plus aimed to get damages two times as this case is also examined by national courts.
Speaking about the legal action taken against the director of the daily “Timpul de dimineata” Constantin Tanase, the first deputy prosecutor said that the investigation in the given case is conducted in strict compliance with the Criminal Code and the conclusions regarding Tanase’s guiltiness will be presented when the investigation is complete.
A month ago, the ECHR obliged the Government of Moldova to pay about 2.5 million euros in damages to the company Oferta Plus over irregularities.
