Moldova up one slot in FIFA ranking

The national football team of Moldova gained a position in the world rankings, published on Wednesday, June 29, by the International Football Federation (FIFA), Info-Prim Neo reports. Moldova were ranked 85th with 383 points, according to the FIFA website. The Tricolors improved their position despite losing 1-4 to Sweden in the EURO 2012 qualifiers. Moldova’s best placed group rivals are the Dutch, who claimed the second position in the rankings. Meanwhile, Sweden gained 9 position and were ranked 19th, Hungary- 45th, Finland- 76th and San Marino remain 203th, at the bottom of the list. Zimbabwe registered the best improvement in June as it jumped 39 positions to the 87th. New Zealand, on the other side, dropped 37 places. The FIFA rankings are topped by world and European champions Spain, followed by Netherlands and Germany.
