The national Under 17 football team of Moldova tied 1-1 the first match of the 2016 UEFA European Championship against Ukraine, IPN reports.

In the game played in Orhei, Moldova opened the score in the 21st minute through the Zimbru striker Vitalie Damascan, who also scored in the Juniors Champions League. The opponents drew in the 36th minute through a splendid onside kick by Yaroslav Deda. In the second half, Ukaie missed several monumental occasions for scoring.

On October 28, the team trained by Vadim Boret meets the similar squad of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while on October 31 – that of Estonia. The matches of Group 13 of the Under 17 Euro 2016 qualifying tournament are held in Moldova.
