The U18 national basketball team of Moldova lost to Malta’s squad 69-76 and finished second in Group B of the FIBA Under-18 European Championship, Division C. Even so, Moldova has qualified for the semifinals of the competition, where it plays Norway on July 8, IPN reports.

Malta started the game better and led by 24-15 after the first period. Moldova won only the fourth period of the game. Victor Legoshin scored 19 goals, while Vadim Bychkov 16 goals.

Earlier, Moldova beat Gibraltar 90-84 and San Marino 92-78. In the other semifinal, the host of the competition Cyprus faces Malta.
