The national youth team of Moldova lost the friendly played in Lenkoran on May 31 to Azerbaijan’s squad 1-0, Info-Prim Neo reports. The first half of the game was balanced with the sides missing a number of chances to score. The only goal was scored at the start of the second half by captain Mirhuseyn Seyidov. Moldova manager Sergiu Chirilov used the following players: D.Rusu, Scripchenko, S.Ojog (Platica, 58), Jardan, Mandrychenko, Costandachi, Starciuc (Nicologlo, 46), Gansari, Hovanschi, Diulgher, Pasechniuk (Vornisel, 46). It was the second friendly match played by Moldova’s U -21 team this year, while in preparation for the 2013 European Championship qualifiers. In February, Moldova drew with Belarus 1-1. On September 1, Moldova will meet Portugal at home in the first qualifying match.
