Moldova U-21 learns opponents in Euro 2019 qualifying competition

A draw to decide the preliminary groups of the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying competition was held at the UEFA headquarters in Nyon, Switzerland, on January 26. The national Under-21 team of Moldova will play alongside the similar squads of the Czech Republic, Croatia, Greece, Belarus, and San Marino, IPN reports.

The preliminary competition will take place during March 2017 – October 2018. The schedule will be made public later. At the draw, the Moldovan Football Federation was represented by the Federation’s secretary general Nicolae Cebotari, Moldova manager Danut Stelian Oprea and head of the International Relations Department Adrian Ixari.

Moldova played against the Czech Republic in the previous qualifying rounds as well. It was defeated in both of the encounters - 1-3 in Orhei and 1-4 in Znojmo.
