The national Under 21 team of Moldova failed to qualify for the final of the Kiev tournament “Valerii Lobanovski”. Moldova was trounced by the team of the hosts 0-5, IPN reports.
The goals for the winner were scored by Bliznicenko (12th minute), Bezborodko (33rd), Petreak (48th), Myshnov (51st pen) and Mishenko (59th). “We didn’t expect such a difference in the score. Moldova had trained for this match for a week and earlier had a good performance in Belgium, where it lost by 1-2 to a powerful opponent,” Ukraine manager Sergey Kovalets said in a news conference after the match.
On June 3, the team trained by Igor Ursachi will compete with Greece for the third place. In the semifinals, Greece was beaten by Slovenia 0-3.
