The national Under-21 football team of Moldova made a good start at the international tournament CIS CUP that is held in Saint Petersburg. Moldova beat Kazakhstan 1-0, IPN reports.
The victory goal was scored in the 68th minute by the Moldovan team’s captain Dan Spataru, who transformed a kick from Vadim Paireli. The halfback of Zimbru was named the best player of the match. On January 19, Moldova meets Kirgizstan, which also scored a 1-0 victory, against Belarus.
“We beat a very good team. I’m satisfied with the performance of my team. As difficult matches are yet ahead,” the coach of the national U-21 team Danut Oprea told a news conference.
