Moldova U-21 beaten again by Greece

The national Under-21 football team of Moldova lost at home to the similar squad of Greece within the qualifying competition of the 2019 UEFA European Championship. After the 1-5 loss in Athens, Moldova was beaten in Chisinau 0-2, IPN reports.

Greece scored the two goals while in numerical superiority given that Oancea was sent off in the 63rd minute. Saliakas opened the score four minutes later, while Koulouris set the final scoreline in the 84th minute.

“Oancea should have been attentive if he had been shown a yellow card earlier. Even in ten, we continued to attack, but, regrettably, we didn’t manage to score,” the manager of the Under-21 team Danut Oprea told a news conference.

Moldova has three points after four matches played. On October 10, Moldova will play away against Belarus, which has by one more point. Greece ranks first with nine points out of nine possible.
