Eventually the Tricolors won courtesy of Evgeny Golubovski's goal scored 10 minutes before the final whistle. In the second fixture of the group, Turkey won 2-1 over Germany. However, both teams qualified for the next round, which will take place next spring. Turkey won the qualifying round on 7 points, outpointing Germany (4 pts.), Moldova (3 pts.), and Luxembourg (1 pt.).
