The national football team of Moldova suffered the second clear defeat in the qualifying competition of the 2020 European Championships. Moldova lost away to Turkey 0-4, IPN reports.
The goals were scored by Hasan Ali Kaldirim (24th minute), Cenk Tosun (26th,54th) and Kaan Ayhan (70th). In the 53rd minute, Burak Yılmaz missed a penalty. “I didn’t expect the scoreline will be like this . Up to the 24th minute, the Turks didn’t create dangerous occasions. We were saved by goalkeeper Alexei Koshelev as the score could have been higher,” Moldova manager Alexandru Spiridon told a news conference.
The lineup for Moldova included: Koshelev, Reabchuk, Rozgoniuc, Posmac, Ioniţă, Carp (Țurcan, 46th), Cebotaru, Gînsari (Antoniuc, 73rd), Jardan, Ambros (Nicolaescu, 57th), and Graur.
