Minister of the Interior Dorin Recean and his Bavarian counterpart Joachim Herrmann agreed to sign two bilateral agreements, one between the subdivisions of the Ministry of the Interior and another on between the police of Bavaria and Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Dorin Recean told a news conference that the agreement was reached during his recent visit to Germany, which was preceded by a working visit to France. “The two agreements will be signed within the conference on security on the Danube that will take place in Munich on May 6. The agreements refer to technical assistance in the form of training and special equipment for criminologists. The police agreement will define the common steps that the Moldovan and Bavarian police will take in concert to combat trafficking in drugs, goods and human beings. These agreements are aimed at improving the stay conditions for Moldovans in Germanys,” he stated
Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca, who also had been in Germany and France on working visits, approved of the position of the European officials, who encouraged again the Moldovan authorities to make effort to achieve the European objectives. “The relations with France are absolutely special given that it is one of the pillars of the European Union. I highly appreciated the French officials’ interest in Moldova,” Iurie Leanca said in the same news conference.
The two ministers paid visits to France and Germany during February 1-3.
