The state must pay €7,500 in respect of pecuniary and non-pecuniary damage in the case of the rape of a minor girl from Bender town. The European Court of Human Rights adopted a decision by which it approved the amicable agreement reached by the representatives of the plaintiff and the Government. The state was also ordered to pay €1,500 costs, IPN reports.
The Promo-LEX Association, whose lawyers represented the case, said the ECHR decision refers to a case of rape that was communicated to the Government on September 20, 2019. The case happened on June 25, 2011 in the municipality of Bender, where a minor girl with mental disorders was sexually abused by a neighbor while her mother wasn’t at home.
The investigation of this case was conducted with a number of violations and deviations. On April 24, 2013, the Bender Court sentenced the man to three years and two months in jail, putting him on probation for a period of two years. He was also obliged to pay 10,000 lei damages.
