Moldova to participate in the Balkan Case Challenge for the first time
All senior undergraduate and postgraduate students studying law, economics, management, political sciences, international relations, diplomacy, sociology, information technologies and other related disciplines are encouraged to apply for the first local sub-competition Moldova Case Challenge, as part of the Balkan Case Challenge 2008, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The Moldova Case Challenge is an opportunity for all students to test and enlarge their knowledge in one of the four offered competitions: Model European Council (an authentic simulation of the European Council); Law Moot Court (a simulation of a trial before the International Court of Justice); Business Case Competition (participants are challenged to produce solutions for a concrete case within a few hours); and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Case Competition (simulates the application of ICT in a specific business context).
In addition to these four case study competitions, the Moldova Case Challenge will include a recruitment event and relevant training modules, which will involve companies willing to attract and test the best candidates for future employment.
Applicants shall first register at http://www.bcchallenge.org/general/main.php. The application deadline is the 31 March 2008.
The local semifinal will take place at the International Free University of Moldova (ULIM) during April 11-13. The jury, composed of representatives of WUS Austria, local experts, and representatives of the partner companies – Pentalog High Tech and IDS Consulting, will designate up to 12 winners, who will represent Moldova at the final competition, to be held in Vienna, Austria. The Moldovan semifinalists will get to compete with the winners of the sub-competitions held in 10 countries involved in the project. All the participation costs will be covered by the organizers.
The competition will be entirely conducted in English.
Moldova Case Challenge 2008 is organized with the support of WUS Austria, in partnership with the Students’ Alliance of Moldova, the Austrian Development Cooperation and the Open Society Institute, New York.
