Moldova to have National Agency for Development of Youth Programs

The appropriate implementation of the policies and programs intended for youth will be ensured by the National Agency for the Development of Youth Programs and Activities that will be set up in the near future. The announcement was made in the April 26 meeting of the intergovernmental commission for youth policies that was chaired by Prime Minister Pavel Filip, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

“The active involvement of the youth in the implementation of government programs is the safest way of developing the country. The Cabinet supports the participation of the young people in the improvement of youth policies so that they play a major role in the modernization of society,” stated Pavel Filip.

The commission also discussed such issues as the consolidation of youth centers, financing of projects intended for the youth through the annual Grants Program managed by the Ministry of Youth and Sport and adoption of a new legal framework for regulating this sector. The new draft law on the youth will offer the young people equal opportunities and possibilities for developing their knowledge and skills.

In Moldova, the young people represent 25% of the population, totaling about 860,000.
