Moldova to have consulate in Timisoara
Moldova’s Honorific Consulate in the Romanian town Timisoara will be
inaugurated on August 31, when it is celebrated the Our Language Day. It
will cover the counties of Timisoara, Arad, Bihor, Hunedoara, and
Caras-Severin. The post of consul will be held by lecturer Silviu
Sofronie, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Foreign Affairs
and European Integration.
The consulate will have the task of promoting Moldova’s image and
strengthening the commercial and cultural relations with Romania’s
Western region. It will issue documents only in exceptional
circumstances, with the consent and at the instruction of the Ministry
of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The consulate’s head office is situated at 20 Revolutiei din 1989 Blvd.,
inside the former Children’s Palace.
Currently, the Republic of Moldova has two consulates general in Romania
– in Bucharest and in Iasi.
