Moldova’s representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2012 Pasha Parfeni will sing the 17th his song “Lautar” (“The Fiddler”) in the May 22 first semifinal in Baku. The concert will be broadcast live on Moldova 1 channel, starting at 10pm, Info-Prim Neo reports. Ten of the 18 representatives of different countries who will compete in the first semifinal will go through to the final. The finalists are selected based on the decision of the jury and the vote of the public. The viewers from 18 competing countries and those from Azerbaijan and the states that founded the contest will be able to vote for the favorite song. The viewers in Moldova cannot vote for Pasha Parfeni. The competitors of the first semifinal represent Moldova, Albania, Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Island, Ireland, Israel, Latvia, Montenegro, Romania, Russia, San Marino, and Switzerland. The Romanian band Mandinga will perform the sixth, while Russia’s Buranovskiye Babushki the 14th. The second semifinal will take place on May 24, while the final on May 26. Azerbaijan and the founding countries – France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK - qualify automatically for the final.
