Moldova to chair SEE Cooperation Process

Moldova will take over the Presidency of the South-Eastern Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) as from May. Presidents of Parliaments from the SEECP member countries will discuss future actions at their 7th Conference, to take place from June 13 to 15 in Sofia, Bulgaria, Info-Prim Neo reports, as it learned from the Moldovan Presidency’s press service. The conference titled “Strengthening the role of the regional parliamentary cooperation in South-Eastern Europe” will tackle mechanisms of stepping up the cooperation between the legislatures of the member-countries. The event will be joined by Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Grecia, Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Turkey. The officials of Croatia, Bulgaria and Moldova -- the countries making up the so-called the SEECP troika – will hold a joint press conference, as a joint declaration will be adopted and the Memo on Interparliamentary Cooperation in South-Eastern Europe will be signed. According to the release, when in Sofia, Moldovan speaker Marian Lupu plans to meet Georgi Pirinski, the president of Bulgaria’s National Assembly. They will approach prospects of the Moldovan-Bulgarian relationships.
