Moldova to celebrate Victory Day

The Government instituted a working group that will ensure the organization of a number of events all over the country on May 9, on the occasion of Victory Day and the commemoration of heroes killed in battle during World War II, IPN reports, quoting the executive’s press service.

On May 9, flowers will be laid at memorial complexes and monuments to World War II heroes located in the country’s settlements. Military ceremonies will be staged at the memorial complex “Eternity” in Chisinau and at the memorial complex “Serpeni Bridgehead” in Anenii Noi district.

Peace education lessons will be taught in the education institutions of all the levels. Besides, the Government will offer financial support to World War II veterans and invalids.

On May 9, those who want will be able to visit gratis a number of national museums, including the Museum of the Center of Military Culture and History based in Chisinau.
