Moldova switches to summer time

On the last Sunday of March, clocks are set forward one hour. On the night of March 29, 2 o’clock will become 3 o’clock, IPN reports.

Contacted by IPN, Doctor of Psychology Anna Gavriliuc said the change of hour differently influences the people. Some do not sense the change. This refers mainly to persons who work in night shifts. Those who suffer from chronic diseases usually adjust themselves harder. This change can cause nervousness, tiredness and irascibility, headaches and hypertension. The children, who have a fixed regime, also can experience difficulties in adjusting themselves. It is recommended gradually awakening them earlier, starting with 5-10 minutes earlier. This will ensure faster adjustment to the change of hour.

Summer time or daylight saving time (DST) is the practice of advancing clocks during summer months by one hour so that light extends into the evening hours - sacrificing normal sunrise times. Typically, users of DST adjust clocks forward one hour near the start of spring and adjust them backward in the autumn to ‘normal’ or regular time.
