The Republic of Moldova will suspend all the flights to and from the UK as of December 23, 2020, 00:00. A decision to this effect was taken by the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission on December 21 in a move to prevent the spread of the new strain of SARS CoV 2 that was detected in the UK.
As from December 23, the regular and charter passenger flights with the UK will be suspended, while the passengers with stopover from the UK will not be allowed to arrive at the Chisinau International Airport.
The Commission banned the air operators from embarking passengers who come to the Republic of Moldova with stopover from the UK.
The public order authorities are requested to step up the surveillance of the observance of the COVID-19 protection measures by private individuals, especially the self-isolation regime.
The non-observance of the public health measures stipulated in the relevant decision is a danger to public health and will serve as a reason for holding those to blame accountable.
