The Republic of Moldova received a consignment of 200,000 influenza vaccine doses that were purchased with funds of the National Health Insurance Company. The doses will be distributed to national health facilities according to the existing immunization plans, IPN reports.
According to the Ministry of Health, the vaccine was stored in safe conditions at the National Public Health Agency’s Vaccine Warehouse.
The vaccine doses will be used to immunize professional contingents and high-risk groups for flu complications, primarily persons with chronic diseases and weak immunity, older persons, pregnant women, health workers, police officers, etc.
The Ministry noted that vaccination against flue is possible simultaneously with vaccination against COVID-19, immunization being the safest and most efficient method of preventing infection with flu.
Vaccination against flu contributes to reducing the risk of developing severe forms of disease and complications, prevents hospitalization and death from flu.
