Moldova's national football team suffered a 1-2 defeat to Norway in the United Arab Emirates, where the team are staying for a training camp. The Tricolors have never won against Norway, although this time the Scandinavians fielded only players from the domestic championship, IPN reports.
Moldova opened the score on 30 minutes, when Dacia defender Veaceslav Posmac found the net. However, the Nordic side leveled the score just before the break thanks to a goal from Ola Kamara. On 67 minutes, Yann-Erik de Lanlay bagged the winning goal for Norway.
“We started the game well and had several chances. Unfortunately, we conceded two goals because of defensive errors. I expect that the boys will show strength of character and a desire to win the next matches”, Moldovan coach Ion Caras declared during the post-match conference.
“I'm glad to have scored. I want to score more the national team. Unfortunately, the goal against Norway did not help us get a good result”, said Veaceslav Posmac.
On Friday, January 17, Moldova will play a friendly against Sweden.
