Moldova slides 17 positions in media freedom ranking

Moldova has lost 17 positions in the media freedom ranking of the Reporters without Borders. In 2007 Moldova was on the 81st place, and this year it fell down to position 98, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from a report by the media freedom protecting NGO. Kenya is ranked the 97, and Guinea is on place 99. Romania and Poland share position 47. Ukraine is the 87th, while Russia is ranked as the 141st. Turkmenistan, North Korea and Eritrea close the 173-country list. According to the ranking, the most free press is in Iceland, Norway and Estonia, the same as in 2007. The first 20 positions are held by European countries accompanied by Canada and New Zealand.
