Moldova shifts to summer time

Moldova will shift to the summer time this weekend. It will shift to the summer time on March 26, when the hour 03:00 will be 04:00, shifting the clock one hour forward. Thus, Sunday, March 26, will have only 23 hours and the lost hour will be recovered on October 29 [the last Sunday of the month], when Moldova will shift from GMT+2 to GMT+3. The summer time was introduced in the territory between Proute and Dniester for the first time in 1931, when Bessarabia was part of Romania. Moldova along with other former Soviet states shifted again to the summer time in the mid-1990s after a pause of about 40 years. Seventy countries shift to the summer time at present.
