Moldova sends humanitarian aid to Albania
Three trucks with Moldovan humanitarian aid left for the flood-hit Albania on Sunday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Dorina Cruc, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, said the three trucks convey food products, pumps, electric power stations and medications. The Government entrusted the Service with the task of bringing together and delivering the aid to Albania.
According to the latest information, the floods affected more than 2,100 homes, destroyed barges and bridges and damaged the water supply systems. Twelve settlements are still under the water. 1,200 buildings have been inundated in the Albanian towns of Shkodra and Lezha. About 730 families have been evacuated. The zone was declared a natural disaster.
The Government of Moldova decided to provide by 20 tonnes of sugar and flour, electric power stations and medications worth 476,700 lei as well as 200,000 lei to Albania in aid.
