The strengthening of bilateral dialogue and identification of new areas of cooperation were the main subjects discussed in the meeting of Prime Minister Pavel Filip and Speaker of the Senate of Czech Parliament Milan Štěch. Pavel Filip welcomed the Czech Republic’s visionary approach within the Visegrad Group to the countries of the Eastern Partnership so that these are offered the perspective of European integration, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.
“The visit to the Czech Republic is a symbolic one, given that on June 1 this year we will mark 25 years of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which we consider very good. We are grateful for the constant assistance that you offer to us in modernizing and developing the Republic of Moldova,” stated Pavel Filip.
For his part, Milan Štěch reiterated the readiness of the Czech Republic to continue to assist the Republic of Moldova in doing the reforms agreed in accordance with the European agenda. “We are ready to share our experience in making laws according to the European standards so that you avoid the mistakes that we made in our path of European integration,” he stated.
Pavel Filip also met with the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Parliament Jan Bartošek. In the meeting, he asked for the Czech Republic’s support in the modernization process and in the process of meeting the European standards.
The Czech official reiterated the Czech Republic’s commitment to support the development of the Republic of Moldova in the long-run. “It is important for the small countries to combine efforts to become a whole. We are glad that we are members of the European Union. This fact brought us advantages and helped us to advance,” stated Jan Bartošek.
