Moldovan pugilists Dorin Bucsa and Iulian Ivanov have qualified for the semifinals of the European Youth Boxing Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia. Both of them secured the bronze medal and will struggle for the top places on October 24, IPN reports.

In the quarterfinals of the up to 49 kg class, Iulian Ivanov beat Turkey’s Mert Karakilic by 3-0. In the semifinals, he will fight against English boxer Niall Farrell.

For his part, Dorin Bucsa won against English pugilist Peter Mograil and will meet Jordan Rodriguez of France in the semifinals.

Mihai Cvasiuc was close to going through to the semifinals. In the up to 60 kg class, he was defeated by Dalton Smith of England. Another Moldovan boxer Cristian Constantinov was knocked out by Romania’s Andrei Aradoaie in the up to 81 kg class.
