Moldova-Russia roadmap discussed in Moscow

Expert-level consultations were held in Moscow on the draft roadman for restoring and stimulating the commercial relations between Moldova and Russia for 2016 – 2017, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry of Economy, the groups of experts discussed a wide range of problems related to the commercial-economic relations between the two states that were included in the roadmap drafted by the sides. In particular, they conferred on the export of Moldovan season vegetal products and animal products, the extension of the list of goods that can be supplied to Russia, including wines and cans, and aspects of the bilateral cooperation in energy, transport, agriculture, industry, investments and migration.

The Moldovan side also raised the problem of transit of goods from Moldova through Ukraine and Russia to Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan and other states of the region, which was affected following the tenser relations between Moscow and Kiev. In this connection, the Russian side was requested to consider the possibility of lifting the restrictions that appeared on this segment.

The sides will continue the discussions on this document in working regime. After August 20, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Lihachev will pay a visit to Chisinau to agree the steps that need to be taken to approve the discussed document. The proposals and conclusions of the experts are to be systematized by this September. The meeting of the Moldovan-Russian intergovernmental commission for economic cooperation was scheduled to take place this November in Moscow.
