The Republic of Moldova and Romania will strengthen institutional cooperation in the agricultural sector. The subject was discussed by Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Vladimir Bolea and his Romanian counterpart Petre Daea on the sidelines of the EuroGrainHub Exchange & Forum in Bucharest, IPN reports.

Vladimir Bolea said that Moldova needs Romania’s assistance in the process of approximating the EU legislation on agriculture. For the purpose, there were analyzed the relevant mechanisms for ensuring the efficacy of the support with the involvement not only of representatives of the key public authorities, but also of the business, academic and research communities.

The minister also discussed the development and promotion of the ecological production system with the president of Bio-Romania Association Avraham-Marian Cioceanu. The interlocutors analyzed the EU’s legal framework on organic farming and the work of certification organisms of Romania.

The EuroGrainHub Exchange & Forum in Bucharest involves agriculture ministers of Romania and Ukraine, national exporters and experts from over 30 states. The event aims to develop platforms for discussion on the global and regional tendencies in trade with grain now that the agriculture of the countries of Central and Eastern Europe becomes more important as a source of grain and seeds.
