The internal EU procedures for the new financial framework for providing assistance to Moldova in 2014-2017 will be completed in July. Moldova remains one of the most important beneficiaries of EU assistance. The issue was discussed in a meeting of Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the head of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Development and Cooperation Michael Kohler, who was in Chisinau on a working visit, IPN reports.
According to a communiqué of the Government, the direct budget assistance priorities for the next three years concern such areas as the public administration reform, agriculture and rural development, police reform and border management. There were initiated the procedures for disbursing funds for continuing the energy and justice sector reforms and for stimulating economic activity in rural areas.
Iurie Leanca appreciated the constant support provided by the European Union to Moldova, underlining the importance of the offered assistance for implementing the European integration and country modernization agenda.
