Moldova relies on Slovakia’s support in European integration process, Mihai Popșoi

Twenty years of Slovakia’s membership in the European Union, together with its progress and development throughout this period, are a strong source of motivation for the Republic of Moldova in its European path, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi and stated in Bratislava, during a meeting with Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia Juraj Blanár. The official noted that Moldova relies on Slovakia’s continuous support in the European integration process, IPN reports.

“We look forward to the first intergovernmental conference between the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, which will mark the official launch of accession negotiations, and we rely on Slovakia’s continued support throughout this integration process,” said the foreign minister. Mihai Popșoi appreciated the openness and substance of the discussions meant to further stimulate the bilateral agenda, especially in this default regional security situation.

The two ministers also exchanged views on cooperation within international and regional organizations, such as the United Nations and the Council of Europe. “Our mutual support for the candidates in these forums reflects our shared commitment to promoting peace, democracy and human rights on the world stage. At the same time, I thanked for the fact that, since 2014, SlovakAid has been implementing projects in our country to improve the quality of life of citizens in such areas as good governance, civil society strengthening, infrastructure, sustainable use of natural resources, water and sanitation and waste management,” said the Moldovan official.
