Moldova regarded as example in CIS as regards telecommunications authorization

Moldova became an example for the countries of the Commonwealth of Independent States that can now learn from the experience of regulating the telecommunications sector and implement the general authorization regime. This method has been used in Moldova since 2008. According to a communiqué from the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), such a recommendation is contained in the decision of the commission for coordinating the activity of the telecommunications regulators of the CIS Regional Communications Community, Info-Prim Neo reports. The members of the commission approved of the experience accumulated by the ANRCETI in implementing the general authorization regime on the electronic communications market. The general authorization is free, while the right to supply networks and services is granted for an indefinite period. The commission for coordinating the activity of the telecommunications regulators is an organization of the Regional Communications Community created in December 1991 by CIS national telecommunications administrations with the aim of coordinating the communications and mailing activity between states. It brings together 12 fully-fledged members, including Moldova, and eighth members with the status of observers.
